So I have a sweet old 1991 poly tech m14. It has served me well for all this time without a single problem. Love that rifle! But I couldn't pass up the deal on a DA 556. For only $599 ? Yep I'm in.
It's been at least 15 years since I fired an AR, and my rifle
Is still somewhere in our mail system. Hopefully
it will be here on Monday. Back in the day I used to have an AK chambered in .223 and that was the last time I bought any ammo.. Until today..
I picked up some ammo for when my new purchase arrives and when I opened up
The box my heart kinda sank... I forgot what a puny little cartridge this is!
So I got an AR now but it will never compare to the M14!
I'm sure it will be fun.. But still..
 
at least your story isn't .... I sold my precious 1991 poly to buy a 600 AR hehehe
Enjoy the poodleshooter , your poly will be there for the days when bigger bang is required :D
 
AR is a good platform to introduce people to shooting semi auto. Low recoil and cost,7.62mm is still great.
