Your foresight is probably correct but, only certain parts require export permits, I usually go by what Brownells says on their web site. I know we have a lot of experts in US law here but I figure the largest gunsmith supply retailer in the world that ships worldwide probably has real lawyers that are more knowledgeable in US export law than anybody here. Here is are a couple of examples from their web site:
Gun Parts:
******Disregard this note if shipping in the US. This note only pertains to International orders.******"If gun parts exceed $100.00 OR an Action, Receiver, Frame, Cylinder, Barrel, Flash Hider or Military Scope is orderd a State Department License is required. If your order requires an export license our Export Department will contact you
Shotgun Parts:
******Disregard this note if shipping in the US. This note only pertains to International orders.******""This item is regulated by the U.S. Commerce Department. A Commerce Department Export license maybe required according to EAR section 738 ( http://www.access.gpo.gov/bis/ear/pdf/738spir.pdf) If your order requires an export license our Export Department will Contact you."
