I just bought my first 1911. It is a Sig Sauer XO, so its not a traditional 1911 because I believe a regular 1911 holster does not fit the XO because it has some sig styling, which makes it a little bit wider than a tradition Colt 1911, and the sig also has a external extractor so the gun looks similar to other sig P series handguns. Besides a couple differences, the sig XO uses 1911 parts. I'm not really looking for a holster at this time, but I did want to upgrade a few things like better grips, a skeleton trigger, and maybe either fiber optic or night sights (novak sights are stock). I live in Southern Ontario, and was wondering if there are any places within a couple hours drive of the Kitchener/Brantford area that has a decent selection of parts for a 1911 ? I don't mind even driving up to ellwood epps in Orrilia if they have 1911 parts that I am seeking because I like checking out epps because they have so much stuff crammed into that little place its always worth the drive.
Does anyone know of any places in Ontario that carries some 1911 stuff ? I will order online if I have no choice, but I would prefer to see some different types of grips & triggers in person because I am not sure what I want and would like to feel the grips also, before buying them.
I am already getting 4 eight round magazines with the gun (2 standard, plus I got 2 extra already). I might buy a couple 10 round extended magazines also, but magazines should be no problem buying online because I don't need to look at those, as long as I buy quality 10 rounders with a good reputation.
