I really have a craving to own an old side by side, so I can annoy my bird hunting buddies and dress like an english farmer.

tradex seems to have lots of options around 200 dollars. Anything I should avoid? This will be a gun shooting bird/trap shot almost exclusively, but i'd like to use modern factory rounds.

Also tradex is closed till halfway through July, any other reliable sellers? i wanna scratch this itch before it goes away.
 
I have a very nice Pedersoli "la Boheimenne" hammer double if you are interested.
Steel approved, browned finished barrel, screw in chokes.
NOT a $200 gun mind you!:p

myself and my two roomates bough sxs's from tradex to go play at the trap range and all like our guns a lot, there cheap have some cool engraving and are never going to go down in value, do it
 
Make sure you get a 2 3/4" gun (any of the ones not labeled 2 1/2" will be 2 3/4"), and make sure you pay attention to the chokes and get the ones you want, I've been eyeing either a Mod/Mod or a Mod/Full gun but they have every mix you could ever want.
 
Don't know that these guns would be appropriate for steel shot. Other than that, there is a wide selection of perfectly usable guns.

Depends on how much you want to spend. There are guns on here at $600.00 or under. However, if you only want to spend in the $200.00 range then you are really restricting yourself to limited outlets if you are in a hurry. I doubt anyone else in Canada has the kind of selection at listed prices that tradeex has.
 
I've been checking out Tradeex's huge SxS selection for the last couple months looking mostly for something for upland game birds. No rush here so I'll be finding something from them just so much to choose from so it's kind of good I've got the extra time to decide. Good luck czechsanchez and let us know what you decide on.
