Buying bullets in the US

In all fairness when the exporter said it is legal for them to export their product according to their country's law then leave it to them and their laws. Sure the Americans don't want Canadians telling them what they can legally do in their country.
It is our responsible to confirm to our country's import law.
Did you ask if he is a licenced exporter? Were there copies of the export documents accompanying the shipment? Did you send a copy of the Cdn. import documents so that he could obtain the US export paperwork?

"The following topics will not be tolerated. Violation will result in immediate and permanent suspension. Some quasi legal/grey/downright illegal examples that are specifically not tolerated are: 1. Shipping or driving items to Canada from the US that require US export permit."
It is expected that laws on both sides of the border will be respected here. Taking advantage of the ignorance of a US business is knowingly circumventing US federal law.

From the RCMP web site. It says

Regulations for Purchasing Firearms and Ammunition in the U.S.

The regulations generally make it unlawful for non-residents (non-immigrant aliens) to possess and receive firearms and ammunition in the U.S.

That basically says I cannot walk into Walmart in the USA and buy ammo. I could were it for a specific reason and have paperwork stating as much. But for me to buy it and drive it home. Were I to get caught, I don't even want to think about how long I get to stay in their jail before they kick me out forever.
