Being blessed with an LGS that is ridiculously well stocked with interesting milsurps, I find myself in a bit of a conundrum. I'm looking at buying something new and I'm having a hard time deciding. The choices are: A PCMR Winchester, or a milsurp EAL - both are withing a few bucks of each other, both in very decent shape, the EAL is as new the PCMR has that "been there, done that" look but is well cared for. What do you guys say?

I was leaning that way, but I've actually never owned a lever gun before, as there aren't a lot with verifiable military provenance, not to mention Canadian military provenance. After reading the above link (thank you), and given the relative scarcity I'm definitely leaning further that way.

Post up pics of both.

If you want a true milsurp, go with the PCMR gun assuming it is all correct.

The EAL is most likely a civilian pattern but pics and serial numbers help to narrow it down.

It were me and MY wallet, I'd go for the PCMR Winchester.

As others have said, there aren't a whole lot of them around, while there are a lot more EAL's.
