How does it work having a firearm mailed or shipped to your home? Sent registered mail by Canada post?l

Retailers mostly use Expedited Parcel.
If you don't have an account with Canada Post it's Parcel Post.
Both with Signature Required.
Insurance is negotiated.

Seller or retailer will verify your PAL prior to sending and Canada Post or a courier will verify that you are the person you say you are by confirming a valid government ID such as a driver licence and a signature.

I prefer to keep it private. Get enough funny looks buying ammo. Will it be obvious there is a firearm being shipped to me?

Depending on the gun the size of the box. Not like GUN IS stamped all over the outside. It could be a box of baseball bats.

I’ve bought a couple online. Sent a pal scan over email, asked the seller that a signature is required at pickup.. otherwise canada post and the courier have left packages on my doorstep.. not a great thing to do with a gun, and a conversation I’d rather not have with the RCMP.
