Buying Magazines From The States.....

You can buy any legal (in Canada) magazine from the states. The tricky part is finding someone who has the EXPORT permit to deal with Canada. If I recall (and I may be wrong) but Midway will not ship to Canada. If not then some other supplier can ship. It also depends if the magazine manufacturer has THEIR export permits too.

x2 on MidwayUSA, they do not ship to Canada. I order magazines from Brownell's, never had a problem and shipping is usually $5.75 shipped USPS INTFC.

Midway will not sell/ship to Canada.

Magazines are controlled for export out of the US so anyone so exporting them needs a current export license regardless of the cost of the mag. You need an export license to export even a furearm pin or screw that costs less than a dollar.

There is no $100 loophole. The $100 only applies to licensed exporters. Not just anyone.

Numrich ships to Canada, $200 limit, $25 export fee + shipping. Numrich is a licensed exporter.

Midway doesn't ship to Canada.

Still cheaper to buy from Brownell's even if you have to place 2 orders of $100 each. Shipping cost will only be $5.75 for each package. Works out to only $11.75 and there is no export fee with Brownell's. You can't beat it.

I've bought five 8 round .45 mags from Wolff- they're well priced and run flawlessly in my Norc 1911A1 clone.
I live in B.C. and they shipped to me with no issues.

Hey all.

I do expect to get tarred and feathered for this, but..............

Looking to buy some 7 round magazines from Miday USA. From what I remember, if I keep in under $100, I can order them?

What kind and make of mags are you looking for, maybe the guys here have bought them before can help.

Oh boy!......this is a sore spot for me I tell you! I've been beating my brains out with this issue. Most US sellers simply refuse to ship to Canada...even private sellers. I just spent over $100 for two extra Mags for my Steyr M40A1 through my local Gunsmith, but could have purchased 10 Mags for that price from a US seller if he would have been willing to ship across the border. It's not my Gunsmiths fault, because he had to pay large for them also. It's not only Mags....it seems anything firearm related is a pain when crossing a border is involved. I drive to the States quite often and have never had a hiccup @ the border with accessories, although I was asked to show my PAL on one occasion when I declared a case of ammo. It was more of a formality by the Customs Officer just to ensure I was on the up and up

canada doesnt care about you bringing in accessories from the states, but the states REALLY cares about you taking them out of the states. I would not recommend bringing accessories over in your car yourself because if you hit one of the checks leaving the states you are not going to have a good time

Brownell's will ship just about anything across the border with no problems. Keep in mind that there are brand names and items that can't come across the border because they are not registered. On items that are over $100, you can still get them. Sandy will send you an email and links on how to import it, it's really easy. Other than that shipping is usually $5.75 if it can fit into their standard shipping box of 9"L x 6"W x 6"H. For $100 or less, Brownell's does all the export papers so there's nothing to do on your part except place the order. I order from them all the time.

I've never even encountered a US check while leaving the States, my wife and I spend quite a bit of time in the Adirondacks, and upstate NY is pretty good when it comes to Canadian gun owners. Most gun shops I visit know the laws when it comes to Canada because we're so close.....like I said, I have never encountered any issues leaving the States, but I can well imagine I'd be in for a headache if I ever did have to explain myself to a US Customs officer. I've talked to a few Troopers about transporting ammo and parts while in their State, and as long as their isn't a frame amongst the goodies.....they're good with it.

I've been stopped on the US side, where they specifically asked about gun parts and ammunition. Crossing from MT into AB. It is Very Illegal to export ANY gun parts from the US without the appropriate permit. Many optics are also controlled for export from the US.

I have never had a narcotics unit stop me on the street and have a drug dog give me the once over...but all the same, I feel that carrying a bunch of crack around in my pockets is not a great idea.

I have never seen an exit check when leaving the US...still, there is something about committing felonies that just doesn't seem like a great idea to me, although I can't put my finger on what exactly seems to be the issue.

Not your best analogy - Unless I'm incorrectly assuming that you are not a crack user or dealer.
