Buying my first .22- Two lever-actions, one choice

Great choice on the Marlin!

I'm a Winchester 9422 kind of guy (My first rifle :dancingbanana:), my father has got an older Marlin... and as far as I'm concern, it is also a GREAT rimfire rifle.

I got to play with (but never fire) the Henry, it looks nice and the action was quite smooth... but I'm somewhat of a gun snob at time, and I couldn't quite get over the pop-metal receiver and painted on finish... if you have the extra $$ available, I think you'll be better off with the Marlin.

Have fun,
Mike.

Kind of a heavy trigger but the Marlin 39a I have is a real tackdriver. It's a very solid and well made gun and so I can certainly recommend them as a good gun. Never used a Winchester, Henry, or Browning, so in all fairness cannot compare them.

What about the ''Uberti yellow boy 1866 carbine or rifle that shooters choice sell? Sure, at $1120 or $1175 it is a lot of money but are those 22lr lever action are worth the price?
