ok, so i've done my research and i am leaning towards a ruger autoloader 10 22.

ive narrowed it down to 2 models i like from ruger.

---the stainless steel barreled one with a black synthetic stock. $309
or
---the blued steel (more of a black) one with black synthetic stock. $269

im leaning towards the stainless for ruggedness, although i read it has aluminum parts to make is oxidization proof. (even tho aluminum oxidizing, at a much slower pace)
but with the aluminum pieces is it not essentially weaker?

i plan on changing alot of stuff on it eventually (tactical stock, bipod, sight)
so i really am not looking on spending alot of money when im changing alot allready. so what things should i consider when purchasing?
any help is appreciated. thank you.

also if you could make any more suggestions on different rifles. ie the remington 22 cal.

base your decision on the receiver color you want. If you want to go stainless, get a base stainless. whichever you choose, just buy the base model. You will be swapping barrels and stocks real quick!!!

Start by going to rimfirecentral.com and doing some reading in the newbie section. They have SO much info on the 10/22. The people you can buy from in the states are Rimefire Sports and Hawktech. They don't ship barrels and recievers but they ship everything else and they have a good variety of stuff at great prices. They are also sponsors of Rimfire Central so you can find their links in the sponsors section.

Good luck, the journey is just beginning.;)

I thought that with the 10-22 both the blued and the stainless have the reciever made out of the same alloy and the only difference is the finish?

I don't know how much the shipping is, but look in the E&E, there's a user from MB selling one for $180 with a scope. As mentioned, you'll end up changing everything anyway. Marlin makes good autoloaders, but no high cap mags. On the other hand, I had B.C 25 rd mags and I got rid of them. They were unreliable. The receivers are all made from aluminum.
