Buying optics abroad

Can I just order a rifle scope from states or, perhaps buy it when I am there? Or do I need some paperwork for that. The exchange rate makes it for me very attractive to buy there at the moment.

Read the sticky in the optics section. It doesn't matter if you order it or bring it back, the same laws apply. Unfortunately, those laws state that it is illegal to export optics without the appropriate paperwork.

Simply don't buy from the USA, there are plenty of good European sporting scope makers that are happy to do business with Canada.

Had we the choice alot would still buy from the USA for the immense variety, and especially now with our dollar so high.

you should still confirm with a retailer, but UK seems to be fine same as Germany
