I live in Alberta. What would be involved in buying a restricted in Sask? Would it be eaiser to just order thru my local shop or have the Sask dealer ship it to me?
I have talked to someone at WSS in Saskatoon, they seemed a bit hesitant on this issue. Any help would be much appricated.

I dont see a problem with either or. Same thing would be involved in the purchase at your local shop. Only difference would be
1) Shipped w/ tracking number
2) Slip in mail box to pick up package with signature required

@rodngun. Would the Sask CFO need to be made aware of this purchase? Is it up to the dealer to make all arrangments?

Long story short, I want a stainless GP100, not a blued. Guess what the WSS in Lethbridge has...

I live in Alberta and bought a restricted in Sask. Dealer took care of everything and it was in my hands a week later via Canada Post secured shipping. Easy.

huh???

I buy guns from other provinces all the time, how is this even a question? Your local gun shop must be effing retarded.

Last restricted I bought was from freedom ventures, and they shipped it to me lickity split.

Your local shop is BSing you trying to get your money!

There is absolutely no difference buying out of province!

The CFC initiates the transfer and it goes to the provincial CFO for approval. Once approved the shop is faxed the paperwork and they ship the thing to you.

Simple as can be.

If there is any shop that is telling you they aren't sure how it works, or trying to make you feel unsure, I would not be buying anything from that asshat!

Never done it before. New to the RPAL. Rifles and shotguns are in good selection, restricted, not so much, where I live, anyways.

Oh and if some idiot at WSS is the issue, it is likely because they probably don't ship firearms out of the store.

There is a mailorder line to call.

Store, and store staff do not handle the mailorder and shipping.

You have the internet FFS. Go to there website, and you can order online, but since their site is always f cked I just call the number at the top of the page.

Nearly all my handguns purchased in the last 10 years were bought from Eastern Canadian dealers and mailed to me in BC.
My last buy was Dec. 2nd and landed in my hands Dec. 6th.
Never had a hassle or a shipping issue with any and that includes prohibs as well as restricted.... :)

Clearly the idiot at WSS in Saskatoon doesn't know what he/she is talking about...but the bigger issue I fail to understand is why the Saskatoon WSS can't send the Stainless Ruger to the Lethbridge WSS store for you to purchase?

My WSS said it could take 6- 8 weeks to transfer in a firearm, even from Calgary... (2hrs away). After reading all the input, Im glad I didnt believe them. Thanks for all the input!!!
Im going to explore the on-line ordering process..

You sure he didn't say hours?:D Clearly he doesn't know what he is talking about. Take your money and business elsewhere. There are to many reliable, knowledgeable dealers, many of whom support this forum, to deal with the nonsense you have been fed.

Take Care

Bob

My WSS said it could take 6- 8 weeks to transfer in a firearm,

Wow, incredible.

Seriously, as mentioned by others, if you're going to go the online route, choose a better dealer from amongst the CGN sponsors rather than deal with a big chain like WSS.

Only thing with WSS is they like to make you pay for their shipping through the teeth .
Just read WSS shipping policy and you'll see what I mean .

From BC, bought a gun from AB this past summer, went smooth as silk. Funny enough the gun showed up without me having paid for it, had to call him and remind him to charge my account.

If its a WSS store where you want to purchase it from, only Calgary can do mail order. I asked about this at the local store. If what you want is in S'toon, they will have to transfer it to Calgary and then to you. Any other dealer no problem, but WSS mail order is out of Calgary only.
