I'm trying to find a place that sells parts to enhance my M&P so i can shoot in ESP for IDPA. Im looking to get a mag well. From what i found, Taylor Freelance sells the Speed Shooter Specialties mag wells and will ship it to Canada. The only problem is that you need their base plate as well for their mag well to work otherwise the standard plate will not fit. The base plate counts as a "gun part" and the permit to export a $25 part is $250 to my knowledge. Anyone have any recommendations?

Make your own base pads. Hockey pucks, both the solid and soft one's work well. Any bulk rubber/plastic will do. As for anything else, check EE. I've seen lots of APEX parts lately so you should find what you need without to much stress.

I thought that anything below 100 does not pay any importation fees.
I bought parts from different gunsmiths in the US and they put in the mail and that is it as long it is not a barrel, a slide, a frame, a receiver or a scope. A mag well is not in that category so no license for that.

That sounds interesting, I'll be sure to try that out. As for the apex parts i got all of that from my LCS

Do you need a mag well? Other than that, if the parts are under $100, as noted, no export license/fees/etc are needed

The mag well I can get in to Canada no problem, it is the base plates that they won't ship. I understand why they won't ship extended cap base plates but they won't even ship the plane old base pads.

Thx for the response guys.
