Buying primers and have them shipped

Is the shipping costs on primers prohibitive? I know they are hazardous products thus should be shipped accordingly..

But damn I can't find any large pistol primers, I can find rifle primers alright, but no pistol to be found!!

The last 2 shipments I received, from 2 different retailers, had no Hazmat fee, just your regular shipping costs. I got 4lbs of powder and 1000 primers from Cabelas, and the total shipping was $14.95, and it came by truck.

They don't HAVE to charge Hazmat fees, but some stores do. What goes on between the store and the carrier is none of my concern...
