Yesterday we took my BCL 102 out to 600 meters using hertinburger ammo. My two buddies are much better shots than I do I let them dial it in. With a cold bore and a 18 x12 steel target we could 2 hits with no issues, the next three were hail Marys. It seems like just the heat of two rounds was enough to throw the remains three rounds off.
Shooting with a 100 meter zero we used 5.2 mils of elevation. Hits at 200 and 400 were easy but once we got to 600 two out of 5 were common and accurate. The rifle is bone stock. Here is my set up.

I found the same thing, only at 500 meters. Hand loads were a different story. Haven't been able to break the moa mark yet though. 3-4 sub moa then 1 or 2 just over, a keeper for sure.

Might just be the limitation of the accuracy of Hirtenberg ammo more so than the rifle? If its 3 MOA ammo, you are gonna have an 18" group at 600 meters. Even if it is 2 MOA, which is asking a lot for bulk milsurp ammo, then your 600 meter grouping would be 12"x12"...Right on the edge of one dimension of your plate. IF you were perfect.

Good shooting though! The shooters doing all that can be expected with that ammo, pretty dang far out.

I wish the barrels on those things were not so picky, as lots of range reports show they like a few things and really dislike others, and throw a lot of flyers.

Even with FGMM barrel heating messes with my groups, doing a bit more load work and going out again this week. But for now, seeing as though it's looking like a real Frankengun with mixed colored upper and lower, as well as an Armalite .308 3gun fore end etc, it has a date with the Krylon today.:needPics:
