A friend just gave me 4 lbs of CIL C300 powder. If I remember correctly this was either the same as 700X or 700X data could be used safely. I want to shoot it up in 12 guage target loads. 17.0 grs, Win AA hull, Win 209's, WAA12 white wads and 11/8 oz of shot seems to ring a bell. Anyone got any "hard" data?
Thanks

From a 12 lb keg of C-300"----Target Loads 23/4 Dram Eqv 17.5 grs----3 Dram eqv 19 grs"-------from a bag of CIL C-112 shotgun wads QUOTE "----suggested loads using C-300 powder & CIL hulls were obtained under laboratory conditions"---"11/8 oz.shot 23/4 dr equiv.17.5 gr C-300--3dr equiv.18.5 gr.C-300" UNQUOTE-----having loaded THOUSANDS with this powder in a variety of hulls (ie CIL,WinAA(old),Rem Blue Magic,Rem STS etc) I encountered no problems---primers I used included Win 209,Cheddite,Fed 209---I currently have a bunch to shoot with 1oz of 8s and 19 grs C-300.---Of course I have no idea about your loading habits/conditions/components therefore the above is provided as information only for your use or not at your risk-----Damn I should have been a lawyer !! --Hope this helps ! This was the first powder I EVER used when I started reloading as a 12 year old in 1972. My load in a 20ga.with 1 oz. was 14.4 grains. It was (fortunately) a very forgiving powder. I used it with any case, wad, and primer I could get. Mine came in a factory can slightly smaller then a 5 gallon paint pail.I loaded literally THOUSANDS of rounds to the point that I wore out my Savage 24 22/20 ga.

I tried some c300 from a friend at our club who has had it for like 25yrs.I used 700x load data for 9mm and found it to be really close to the 700x data.Just a hair less velocity than what was expected from 700x in same volume.
