I was given a C.I.L model 171 bolt action 22 in need of lots of tlc. I am having a hard time trying to find any info on this rifle. All I can find is on the rh side of the barrel by the action is-Made in Brazil by Companhia Brasileira De Cartuchos. on top by action says C.I.L. model 171. I am in need of some parts, but can't find any info,I know that CIL imported rifles and put their stamp on it,and it is the same as other model rifles, but i can't seem to find out what.Any help would be appreciated!:D

It's the same as the CBC model 122 or the Remington model 525. They were similar to the model 511 Remington. Some say the tooling was sent to Brazil after Remington was finished with their rifles. They are well built and accurate. I've had a few over the years. Be on the lookout for spare magazines when you can. They have Brazilian hardwood stocks instead of walnut.

I have one. If you need parts call western gun parts. I just had to get some from them. Mine is pretty accurate although not as good as my cz but will shoot under .5" at 50 with mini mags. Lots of gophers have died when this was in hand. One of my favorites thats for sure.

After refinishing it.
