Hi-- I am thing of buying a brno 601 in 243 cal--I want to rebarrel to 7 x 57
The 7 x 57 is appox .250 longer than the .243
Will the action feed the 7 x 57 and is the magazine long enough to accept the 7 x 57
Thanks Sydney

I am pretty sure that the 601 would feed a 7/08 Rem and would make more sense in this calibre. When BRNO made a 7x57 on the ZKK action they used the ZKK600 length (eg 30/06 length)

I have a 601 that I rechambered from 223 - 22-250. I could be wrong but, that is about all the cartridge you can get into the magazine. They dont stack well and feeding is an issue. I changed out the follower and spring for a Rem model seven follower and spring. The mag well steel had to go as well.

DeHaas reckons that there were 4 different magazine boxes for the ZKK series ... personally I think there were 5 (imo) but anyway he thought that there were two for the ZKK 601 (one for the .222/.223 and another for the .243/.308) - which is why I believe snoopycda may have had some issues with the 22/250 in the 223 action
DeHaas goes on to say that there was one mag box length for the ZKK 600 (30/06) and one for the ZKK602 (.458 and .375) ... fwiw I think they also had two boxes for the big gun : one for the 458/8x68s and one for the .375H&H/416 Rigby but thats just an opinion for now (I do have the 375 and 8x68s but have never really looked to see - now on the to do list)
