Fella's, can anyone definitely verify that the C6A1 (light machine gun) barrel muzzle thread pitch is 5/8x 24?

Someone contacted FN. It's a 24 pitch but not 5/8 diameter.

A buddy contacted FN Herstal-USA (FNH-USA) about the M240 GPMG threads and received this reply today.

I hope this helps!

I miss shooting the pig. I don't miss cleaning it though..

I didn't find it too hard. Found the C6 to be a little less forgiving on how clean it needed to be when turning it in, unlike the rifle. Let's bend the gas tube to show the crud under it, you better scrap the carbon off the crown.

We used to do battle runs and gun camps, putting about 30k rounds though them in a few days. Had to take them to the wash basins when we were in Valcartier to let them soak for a few hours before we dug into them. Carbon everywhere.... Sore fingers ensued... First world problems I guess.
