C8 colours?

The C8FT I've examined up close was a dark grey/dark gun metal colour.

I'd post a pic but photobucket is acting up.

EDIT: Seems to be working, still slowly tho.

As KevinB says they are all black. Some of the older rifles do appear to take on a bit of a greyish tint to them. Not sure if this is a result of age, heavy use or what.
 
Not sure what you mean by that KevinB. All of the A2's that I've seen are simply the old A1's in new furniture. I don't believe that they have been re-anodized as bare aluminum is visible where they struck the A2 marking on the receiver. Bare metal would not be showing if these had been re-anodized.

I've gotta admit that I've not seen a lower that is as light in colour as the one in your photos.

In theory all the A2's where rebuilt C7 uppers (not A1's) that whent in got a new flattop - and had the lower re-done. Most where then re-annodized (first batches) We had the first issued A2 series guns - which is where I got the pics and the colour generalization from -- I heard from others in Pet -- that it look like exactly what you descirbed and they got lazy and simply did a quick parts swap and never anythign more than that...
