Hoping someone may know the answer here. Does the C8 use the Colt Carbine handguard or the standard carbine handguard? Most all rifles (Bushmaster, RRA, Armalite, etc.) use the standard carbine handguard except Colt which has a slightly different end cap. I've attached pics. The different Colt end cap is on the right. Since the C8 is made by a subsidiary of Colt, I'm guessing it uses the Colt style...

I had a basic C-8 on my first tour in 96. It was a normal handguard if I recall correctly. Diemaco didn't belong to colt back then, they were under Heroux-Devtek, a company specializing in aricraft landing gear. and my current issue C-7A2 has normal handguard also

Mine had a round handguard cap. It was an SFW, I am not sure if the C8a2's or a1's had a round or triangular cap. I ran a Samson drop in rail system on mine without any problems.
Hoddie.

They are all round but there is a difference in the measurements between the colts and the others and I am not sure what it is but it is hard to see cause I've looked for it.
