Hi Guys,
I have a CZ SP-01 Tactical in 9MM
I'm getting light primer strikes after about 2000 rounds after changing the hammer spring to the 13# spring

Was going to change the Firing pin to the extended pin which is 2.475" long to solve the problem but...
1. Was wondering what the length of the factory firing pin is?
2. Do I replace the firing pin with the factory length or just go to the extended? Will the extended pin solve the problem?
3. Go back to the Factory Hammer Spring? I like the 13# double action pull so don't want to do this.

Thanks for your help

Al.

Thanks!
Do you know what the length of a factory firing pin is?
I did some looking but could only find the extended pin length of 2.475"
Was curios to see if my firing pin has warn

Extended firing pin fixed the issue, no more light strikes.
the original factory pin taken out of the gun measured 2.439", the new extended pin is 2.475" difference of 0.036"
not much difference at all but it fixed the problem and I can leave the lighter hammer spring.

never did find out what the original factory pin length is???

I can't help you with the length either since I don't have a new one sitting around. But I'd bet an E-beer that your original is worn very little or not at all.

I'm thinking that the big advantage of the extended pin is that the pin does not compress the firing pin spring as far before it strikes the primer. As such it hasn't been slowed down by the spring as much and more of the energy from the hammer is still there to use.

Clearly with such a small amount making a difference it shows how close a thing it is and why this would only be usable in competitions where no one's life is on the line
