Good day all

I will be receiving my Crypto soon and am looking for an Optic.
Looking to not spend too much ($300 pre tax max).
I want it for a 100m max range.
Looking for magnification, not red dot ( I have a Prism already [Vortex Spitfire] and don't want to just add a magnifier).

Looking for some suggestions, preferably some place that takes Military discount and/or Native Tax except.

Thanks in advance

Discovery ED-AR 1-8X24SFIR FFP Search a few channels for coupon codes and you will have it at your door for $200. IMHO it has better glass and reticle than the Arken EP8. Not really needed for 100y but who know how far you might need to go.

I've got an Eotech on mine. I put a 5X or 3X magnifier behind it when I need to see a bit further.

I like to run an Aimpoint or Eotech and then I’ve got three magnifiers that I’ll just pop behind them when I’m using that rifle.

If that’s not in your budget, there are actually some fairly high quality dots on Amazon for 70-80. Some even have shake awake features. It’s remarkable how some of these cheap dots are increasing in quality.

I’ve been looking for a budget optic for my SBI LPC this might work for me. Can you share where you’re finding this for $200 shipped please.

https://www.discoveryopt.com/products/89 I found a code on a youtube channel that saved me $20 got it to my door for $200 and took 5 days to get to me.

I applied the code (10%) and it came to $220, still an excellent price. Those Chinese optics are getting better and better, probably not much of a warranty. I bought one off ali last year and thought it is a write off but for $75 I am truly impressed. The glass etching machines these days are quite advanced to let's say 10 years ago. Same with prescription eyeglasses, most of it is marketing these days and sucking the money out from people who are covered by their insurance.

Follow up on this one. I received the scope and I must say that I am very impressed. Took 17 days from order to receipt. Here is a review of that scope:

Where does this Discovery ED-AR scope ship from? Amazon won't ship this one to canada. Also was there duty on top of the price you guys had to pay?

The link is mentioned above, directly from the manufacturer in China is where mine came from, then look for discovery optics on youtube and look for discount codes. One Australian guy who tested the 2-12 scope provides a discount code for use with aliexpress, I did not check the price on ali after discount myself. I can't really comment on taxes since this is up to CBSA if they pick your package and charge you or not.

If you order from amazon the scopes do not come with rings, mine came with the 34mm AR height rings (1.45"). Make sure you chose 20mm picatinny.

My mistake. Still, $179 USD (30% off of MSRP) direct from the factory with free shipping is still most likely the cheapest you are gonna find that scope anywhere.

The scope is truly amazing at that price. A bit heavy, just a bit more than the EP8 by 1 once. The only criticism is that the red dot is hard to see at daylight on setting 1, since it is a FFP (most of their scopes are). But it comes with the AR height rings (look up how much those set you back alone in 34mm) and it has parallax (name one LPVO which has it). The eye piece is nice, I always had a problem with my Strike Eagle 1-6 to even get a good sight (most Vortex scopes are not good in that department), POS compared to this one. Once I confirmed receipt of my order on their website, a small box showed up which says RMA, so obviously they do warranty.

They shipped out 6 days after my order (high demand I guess) and the tracking ended in Toronto, then 4 days later my friend from the PO showed up at my door. 17 days all in from order to delivery- did not have to pay anything on top - schhhh.

Time will tell whether these scopes are good.
In years past, a few of us were recommending a less known make as being cost effective optics, both LPVO and higher power. Then there were multiple failures, and that was the end of that.

I have one of there Vt-t 3-18 on my 308 for 4 years and it has been flawless. I have done a side by side with my Athlon Midas Tac set at 18 power where the TAC should be at it's best clairity and the VT at it's worst and the Discovery is just as good to my eye.

I am looking for a direct comparison between the Arken EP-8 and the Discovery 1-8x LPVO. Should prove interesting with the Discovery at just 2/3 of the Arken's price, but with exposed locking Turrets as opposed to a capped Windage dial and exposed Elevation Turret.
