I'm not an expert but i dont think a laser range finder would fall under itar even if it is by made by sig. Could be used for golf or any number of uses

It's been a few years since I ordered a LRF but there were no problems bringing it across then. I want to say it was around 2007 or so.

My Leica came in the mail from US. I am within an hour of 2 Cabelas in Michigan and would not hesitate to bring back a range finder.

I bought mine in the US and brought it across the line with no issue at all. All the dealers in Canada are out to lunch on the price of these units.

As Sig Sauer products have a distributor in Canada, and places like Cabelas buy directly from Sig, there will be noticeable differences in pricing. This is almost always the case with brands that are distributed (such as Zeiss, Leupold, etc...) versus brands that dealers can buy direct (such as Nightforce, Swarovski...).

It's a bit odd to see a disparity like that with Cabelas though.

The model they are advertising is the previous generation 2200, not the new 2200MR, which the US Cabelas sells at $499.

We have all of the Sig range finders in stock, and we make a point of meeting/beating any Canadian competitor's price (we are $699 on the 2200MR vs. Cabelas Canada being $799 on the 2200LRB, while Cabelas USA is $499 USD on the 2200MR which is around $645 after exchange).
