I've never posted in this subforum as I'm not really an airgun guy anymore. As a kid though I loved them (rifles and pistols).

I was in Cabelas in Winnipeg today. It was a madhouse in there and I should have known better than to go on this weekend.
But...I noted that there were no air pistols to be found. I asked one of the Cabelas guys and he said "we're out of the market".

Sad things happening in Canada right now...

I imagine it had to do with the possibility of banned replica pistols and don’t want to get caught with inventory they can’t sell

Princess Auto in Wpg still sells them but are no longer on the shelves. Now you have to ask one of the employee's, and they'll take you to the computer and you pick out the one you want. Then they'll go to the back and bring it out for you. If you decide to buy it, they'll take it to the checkout for you.

Typical Canadian response to a potential rule. Grab a hold of it and develop your own set of extra rules to follow.

I can see that maybe Cabelas they do not want to be saddled with a a bunch of replica air pistols that cannot be sold but as for the rest of the standard air pistols under 500 fps they will still be just as legal as ever to stock or sell.

As an example of taking a potential rule and extending it, PA seems to be now treating the air / spring etc rifles they sell as firearm when they are not and are not likely to be.

The only thing coming under C21 is the fact that the current line of replica pistols will be prohibited from import/export, sale or trade. It will still be legal to own them, use them as you always did (but for cripes sake dont wave them around in public like some sort of rapper).

Looks like the trudeau fear message is getting through loud and clear.
