I've ordered twice from them, I paid, rifle showed up at my door about a week later. Oh, the one was a couple days longer because the post office is filled with dumb-dumbs. I'd order from them again for sure.
I ordered a 597 on the 5th of this month and I just sent an email asking whats up. Reply was "I'm nnot sure why this order has not shipped. I've sent an email to our warehouse in regards to getting this out."
I've ordered a couple of rifles from them,,,I went with C.O.D.,,that way if it got lost in the mail,,I'm not out any coin,,or if the package was smashed to s&&t,,I won't sighn,,send back to sender,,lol
but I never had any problems..
I would recommend that if you must order from Cabela's call the 1-800 number, and order over the phone - This way you can select the type of shipping that you want (I'd suggest Canada Post). I previously made the mistake of placing my order online with them, which selects UPS as the default shipper - Nothing but headaches with that company! (i.e.: I'm not home when they try to deliver at random times, which they cannot inform me of ahead of time, and I end up having to wait over the weekend to pick my packages up from their depot.)
I've bought stuff directly from cabellas store in winnipeg. No substitute for going there in person but they are a legit company and the one in winnipeg at least was around for years and years as SIR Mail Order before being bought out by cabelas.
I just purchased a boresighter with scope reticle leveler from Carbela's on June 14 and paid with a credit card online. Received it on the 17th through the mail. I have no complaints with that service. I often do not trust the post though.
Turns out my gun was in the mail already. I got it yesterday morning. My CC hasn't been charged yet which is why I assumed it hadn't been shipped yet. Oh well, all is good now!
They are a Quality company that has to deal with supply and demand, shipping, customs etc. I usually go with COD. Had to wait a couple months for a Ruger 96 but other guns showed up in about two weeks. I do get tired of their loading components being on back order but I think the blame for that belongs solely on Obama's shoulders. I wish you could still get primers and powder through the mail but thats for another thread.
