I picked up a C broadarrow marked BSA .22 Martini at the St. Catharines gun show. Looks to be a model 8 takedown.
This is my first one with the butt disk marked - 48C and a 4 below.
Anyone know what this means?
There is a lot of talk here about the Lee Enfield #7 being the Cadet rifle.
Where do the BSA Martini's fit into the timeline?

Check out the Martini gallery to check dates, and other info. on models.

I have a model 13 (common model for Canada) that is also a takedown. My brass disc was engraved with initials sometime after issue so numbers, etc. no longer exist. Many of these Martinis had their barrels relined although they are not obvious. Check on the end of the muzzle to see if something like "Parker" (don't remember the exact name of the company that did most of the relining) is lightly engraved over the end of a barrel liner. These are excellent actions making very accurate firearms though many are too heavy to carry hunting. Mine had chamber damage so had it converted to .218 Bee and changed to centre-fire. Excellent conversion.
