Cadex and Magpul Mags

The 338 Lapua mags in 3.850 will fit your complete rifle?

We spoke on the phone a few months back, Patrice. But still am not "getting" it. Sorry........

Yes they will fit.

Basically as soon as you have a long action chassis fitted with an aluminum detachable base you can fit the three styles of long action magazines simply by changing the internal nylon sleeve.

SSSF 3.715"
SSSF 3.775"
SSSF 3.850" CIP

All three magazine styles are available in 300 Win mag and 338 Lapua mag. The same mags can also fit other calibers that have similar case, such as 7mm Rem Mag as an example.

To better understand the magazines styles on the market you can have a look at the following chart that I've built about two years ago: https://www.cadexdefence.com/magazine-compatibility/chassis-vs-magazine.pdf

Let me know if you still have some questions.

Best regards

Just to make sure nobody is confused. Cadex does not manufacture magazines (except 50BMG magazines). We import Accurate-Mag magazines to supply with our chassis. They are great quality magazines at a cheaper price than AI magazines.

Its funny, you sell accurate mags, Savage uses accurate mags, you can buy accurate mags on their own. Your cheaper than both but have higher quality products...Buying AI style mags is like the most painful part of building a rifle. Absolutely required but so expensive in comparison to everything els. Got my mag through One shot, deff happy with the price.

I grabbed a .223 Cadex mag for my gunsite scout and was happy to see its almost identical to the factory Ruger supplied accurate mag. The nylon sleeve in the Ruger mag extends past the steel feedlips making loading a little more difficult but the Cadex supplied mag has the nylon trimmed back to the steel. It makes loading easier. Functionally they fit and feed identically - absolutely flawless and can be inserted on a closed bolt. Well worth the $70, a magazine just cannot work any better than this.

AI makes a quality magazine don't get me wrong. We just chose to go with Accurate-Mag because they are just as good and since they are cheaper in price it lowers the price point on our products. Also Accurate-Mag offers more configurations of magazines for the AICS style long action magazines which is better for reloaders. As an example you can have a 300 Win mag magazine at 3.850" CIP and have a lot of room for VLD bullets.

This sounds like just the thing I was looking for. Just to confirm, I have a S/A Remington 700 with a CDI Precision DBM kit. Will the Cadex .308 mags work in place of something like an AICS mag, or these somehow proprietary to the Cadex chassis?

They are AICS pattern mags.

Trust me.... i know how dumb I am, no need to tell me but just because of the gun and action I am temp using. I am running a 300 win 3.850 mag from you guys in a Rem 700 long action 308 win barrel combo... bent the mag feed lips obviously for it to work but it does cycle no issue

I don't know if it's the language barrier but I truly do not consider anybody here dumb. I just explained why as a business we chose to go with Accurate-Mag versus AI mags.

Best regards

Hahaha Ok

No in fact it's not dumb at all to run the long action magazines for a short action caliber. Especially since the Remington's have soooo much free bore that you are limited by the internal length of your magazine. Most people would normally have enough of 3.715" so they would use a 30-06 SPRG magazine instead so that they would not have to rework the lips at all.

Pretty smart to me my friend.
