Cafsac 2016

I did it in 92 and us west coast navy showed up a week before the match started, shot a lot of ammo especially full auto, ie my favourite the C9. We lived in bell tents, drank beer there too. Like it when industry showed up. Even got a chance to shoot on of the BART's SA80 with the funny icicle post in their optic. Boozing it at the clubs close to Connaught at night and getting back to sleep it off was a blast, awe the years go by fast. Heard the shoot is all PC and regimented but would love to go if I was still in.

johnl,

If you want a copy of the shooter booklet with all the matches that I do up, drop me a PM and I'll e-mail it to you.

The matches have changed considerably from way back in the day. My first year was 94, I didn't know there was a MARPAC team back then. We'd seen individuals from MARPAC on an occasional basis into the mid 90's, but I didn't realize you guys had a team.

MARLANT is coming back again this year, not much training time due to some 'issues' with ranges and storage, but we've got a few boots that will be on the ground.

In terms the good old days, I recall some of them....but the environment is much different nowadays across the forces. There is still time to head out now and then, but being ready for duty the next day is kinda a big deal.

Hey NS, we roped an officer in to sign for us. He paid for most of the beer:p The PPCLI helped us out on Heals range, ie especially with the round down if I remember correctly. I did well with the Browning hi-power on one stage almost winning it, also tied for first at the 500 meter deliberate thinking there will be a shoot off, nope the other guy had more inner Bulls. I didn't do the soldiers cup but the boys didn't come last;) even beat out some army teams. It was a very fun time. Good luck boys.
