calgary gun show?

There was a 1899 C in I think 303 Savage with B style engraving. It had been hunted. He had no price on it because he had no idea what it was worth. It was nice to see anyway and he was a nice fella to chat to about savages for a few minutes.
And by the way Noel, ol buddy, ol pal, Is there a good reason you never stopped to say hello?

Rich

By gosh Rich, had I known you were there I would have made a point of tracking you down! I might have talked to you and not even realised it too.

If you saw a guy going pretty quick up and down the aisles with a black Cowboy hat and a grumpy kid in a stroller than you caught a rare glimpse of the Noel in the City........it is very rare.......

Found this gem.....

Not everyones cup of tea.... but I likes it :D

Been going for years and never bought anything.

Came home with a TCR Aristocrat/Deluxe in .223 for $475. Just liked the Look and thought a single shot would be good for a carrying varmint rifle. Must find more barrels....

I picked up a ###y little 7-08. Custom hand made stock, mauser action, new barrel complete with engraved rings and weaver scope. I just love it, it's even sighted in and seems to shoot ok.

Whew, from the way you guys are talking, sounds like the Kamloops gun show in April is a real steal. I picked up a cherry Savage 99c 308 (65) for $375 last year and she's a beaut. But there were some stupid prices too. First time there though and will be smarter this time. 3 HUGE buildings full of stuff and parking was $3 for the day. Going up on the 25th of April and may stay for the weekend-rates are cheap there. The old lady comes and we meet up with some friends. Never seen so many guns in one place.

An early production (~1950s) Bushnell Scopechief 6x42 in mint condition followed me home from that show. Hopefully it will live up to its reputation. I compared it side by side with a Zeiss Conquest ($511) and the 3200 10x40 ($259) on the next table and the old Scopechief seemed clearer and brighter than the new stuff. Maybe I just don't have very discriminating taste.

Ya, there were lots of over-priced guns but there were a few bargains. Saw a whole rack of new Tikka T3s for $600 a piece and I tracked down a Whinchester 1906 .22 for $225 so I was pleased with that. Spent way too much time chatting and not enough looking but had a good time as always and kept my purchases to the .22 and a Roosevelt book on hunting Africa.

The prices on the Yildez shotguns was a pleasant surprise as well.
