Hi all, excuse the noob questions!

Just bought a Savage 300 WSM and have a 30-06
Bought 180 grain ammo for both and the moa is as follow on the box.

30-06 - 200yrds: 0, 300yrds: -8.4, 400yrds: -24.
300 WSM - 200yrds: -3.1, 300yrds: -11.4, 400yrds:

How does this make sense.
Vortex Ballistic Calculator has different info..
Can ammo make that much difference?

Your thoughts.. Thanks.

It appears that the 30-06 is zeroed at 200 yards, and the 300wsm is zeroed at 100 yards, therefore you can't compare the numbers. By the way, you missed the 400 yard drop for the 300wsm.

What he said.

And if they're both zeroed at 200, the 30-06 will drop 4 more inches at 400 that the .300 will. 6 inches more if they're zeroed at 100.
