Caliber conversion question

Has anyone converted a 7.62x51 into a 7.62x54. can this be done on an m14 or any other bolt action rifle. Thanks

I have heard of No. 4 .303 rifles being converted to 7.62x54R, to take advantage of the low cost ammunition.
It would be just about impossible to convert a M14 to 7.62x54R. Not very many rifles would be good candidates for conversion, let alone ones originally in 7.62x51.

Seems to me that 7.62x51 ammo would be more economical to shoot.

"...on an m14..." You do know that's not a bolt action? In any case, you'd be converting from a rimless case to a rimmed case that is less "powerful". You'd have feeding and magazine issues. And you'd need a completely custom barrel as the 7.62 x 54 uses .311" bullets.
"...just about impossible..." Anything is possible with enough time and money. In this case, it'd be lots of money.
