Calibre advice

The seven Oh eight gets my pick. Judging by the replies he's crazy not to grab it. If he doesnt take it, let me know I want another one on my wall.

Aside from the popularity issue, ammo availability...the SAUM won't likely make full use of it's powder burning capability due to the short-ish Model Seven barrels.

7mm-08, and failing that, go with a common caliber... I know, I know, boring, but imagine yourself in the middle of no-where and NO AMMO... The local stores will likely have a selection of COMMON calibers... NOT the "other" stuff...

7-08 would be my pick of the two , but then I own a 300 WIn, 3006, 308. Now if it was a 7mm Shamu I'd be getting all hot and bothered right about now.

Seriously, I think a magnum cartridge needs a barrel longer than 22 inches.
