Two local farmers have asked me to try and thin the coyote population in their area recently after one of them lost a sheep(to predation) and the other had to put a young calf down because of wounds.
I normally wait until the hides are prime but these two individuals are very upset and adamant that something be done about these dogs.
I did take an old ##### off the one farm a couple of weeks ago and thought I'd get out again tonight and see what happened.
Long story short I took two tonight with the FX-3,but one of them,an old male, was in dire need of killing as someone had (in the past) tried their luck at snarring something, and this poor bastard was the recipient.
Looks like he has had this wire around his neck for quite some time.awful smell, maggots, well you can imagine.
Here's a couple of pics:

Poor thing. It pisses me off when an animal suffers unnecessarily. You did good.

Great work Boney.... what caliber...is that a Savage?

P.S. next time put the tailgate up before you let the wife drive the truck.

Yes it is a Savage model 12 VLP,Leupold Vari-XII 6-18x40AO,22-250 Rem,60 grain sierra hp,average vel,3611fps.(for 10)
The ##### was hit at 159 yds and the noosed male at 127yds.Neither as much as twitched after being hit.

Although the wife did not smash the gate she was indirectly involved,as it was hay,for her horses, that was loaded in the back and overhanging the sides (impeding my sight in the mirrors)She was also trying to direct me from a 6"white pine(unsuccessfully)while I was backing up the lane to the barn.I was very happy.:)
I knew I'd get a wise ass remark from someone!Figures it'd be you Redd.;)
