So I just bought a gun I don't want on the cheap. I know its worth more than I paid for it, and from early google searches, much more.

It appears to be an M91TS Carcano with the M28 side mounted grenade launcher. The rifle itself isn't in terrific shape, but its in good enough shape for its age, and it shoots. The grenade launcher also functions.

The rifle looks well used, markings are faded, but visible. All numbers I can find are matching.

The rifle is clearly modified in order to support the M28, but I can't tell if they were necessary modifications done by the OEM or something afterwards.

I understand that while SOME M91/M28s were made in the factory, it was a bit of a hobby for some people to make a DIY M91/M28 combo gun. Any way to tell what I have?

Can someone provide examples or references from bonafide carcano experts so I can check my rifle out against known specimens?

I am in no way a milsurp guru, but I knew this firearm was going to be something special.

Pretty sure I will look to sell it eventually, but would like an honest appreciation for its potential value. Any help the Carcano lovers can provide would be great.

Basically looks identical to this one. https://www.rockislandauction.com/d...38ts-carcano-tromboncino-m28-grenade-launcher

I've owned preeeetty much every variant of Carcano I could get my hands on outside of the Type I made for the Japanese and a 91/28 configured with the grenade launcher.

There's a handful of other Carcano guys hanging around, if you have pictures of your gun specifically I'm sure we could tell if it's an original or not. I can confirm that the rifles did require modification to mount the grenade launching apparatus, and that they are *very* rare.

Here is a great reference website I use all the time:

And here is a Q and D so you can ensure your rifle is at least on a basic level configured properly:

Let us see it ASAP! I know a few collectors who will be all over you for it.

give us serial number, maker and date of production. The rear sight can give some clue too because it slightly differ from a 91/28 one and i think it is the only carcano model that the rear sight has a serial number. Mine does, so i dont know if it apply to all makers

They were made between 1929 and 1930 i think (maybe 1928-1929...)

Grenade launcher is so rare i doubt about the DIY thing...

I own an all matching trombocino, minus the launcher witch i think is more common than having a grenade launcher on the loose

I got few recents books about the carcabo (hobbs and arundel, riccio and i cant remenber the other one)

Also, post pictures!
