So i got my CSA VZ 58 sporter in 5.56 -.223. I got it last month but its sitting in my safe, haven't got out to shoot it :(. Questions for you guys.
I am new to this style rifle. Should i dissemble it and oil? Second is, anyone know what size .223 bullet works perfect for this 1:7 Twist ratio. Barrel is around 12 inches. I got some AE .223 55gr but read that the 1:7 twist will destroy that ammo.

Any other help on this rifle i should know would be appreciated.

No need to do anything with this gun except feed it. 55 grainers will work fine. Clean it and lube when necessary. I have shot everything from 55 grainers up to 69 grainers and they all seem to shoot very well.

How well?

I am looking at red dots and for the money im seriously considering the Bushnell Trophy TRS-25. Now i saw another one the Bushnell TRS-25 its like 25 bucks cheaper. What is the difference in price?

I shoot the 55gr AE , its not as accurate as my 858 with the corrosive chek surplus. But it still pretty good at 2-300 yards. Ive shot at plates at 600, you put enough rounds out there you will get on the iron once and a while

Norincodude - what does "very accurate" mean? I have never owned one of these types of rifles so I am curious to know how they perform.

Very accurate relative to its barrel size. It won't win any competitions but it groups nicely at 100 metres (I forget exactly the group size - I just remember being impressed by how this short barreled carbine could group). I haven't tried beyond 100.
