calling ducks

i went out and bought a good duck call but i don't know how to use it right, is there anywhere i can go to get tips on how to use it?
any help would be great. thank you

Buck Gardiner puts out a good instructional tape. Once sat in on his "clinic" at SIR. Only about 10 people showed so it was as close to one on one instruction as ya can get! Learned a bit and he threw in a free call as well.

ok for calling ducks in that are coming toards u use a whit whit whit whit whit stating long then short at the end around 7 calls and it whIT emphize the whit then there is the comeback after they turn and are flying away use this its a ainkkk aaiiinnkk ainnkkk ainkk ainkk anikk loud and long then there is the lonely hen its the basic quack wich is modified its a quack quack QUACK QUACk QUack quack empizize the CK then there is the feeding call this is the hardest its tickatukaticka takes alot to get this one search the Ducks Unlimited website for were to use and for sound clips But that is just some Basics therre

Lucky bum.

I bought a Lohman call that came with a tape. Helped a lot. Just don't get too carried away while driving in heavy traffic like I did....

Last year I had a 30 minute commute too work,, my calling was fantastic from openner on!!! Got some strange looks, even had the opp pull me over wanting me too give them the pipe I was just smoking out of,,, ummm buddy you smell anything coming out of this truck??? This is what you saw!

Truck calling

The best is when you pull up beside someone on thier cell phone roll down the window and let go with a "high ball". The look is priceless.Have a little trouble practicing with my short reed goose as I need 2 hands.Driving to work I, like most, have seen everything from people reading books ,makeup [ both ###es] video games and movies,practicing on my calls is pretty low key compared to some of those

The car is the best place to practice. Besides the wife and kids won't let me practice in the house ( anymore ). Get yourself a good lohman intructional tape and 5 minutes a day from now until opening day and you should be a champ. Just remember, sometimes the ducks don't want to hear the call. This usually happens the second week of duck hunting season. You will just have to learn to read the ducks. Just let them come into the decoys and good luck.

I like to go out in the spring and summer with my call, down to the marsh and watch the diff. type of ducks, and the noise they make and try to mimic the call, and eventually you learn the diff. ducks and their calling habits.
