I stumbled onto a deal for some Campro 45-70 projectiles, 405 grain RNFP FCP so scooped them up without looking at the reloading data super closely on what powders work with them and they have data for H4198 whereas I have IMR4198. So checked a few of the books Lyman 47th edition and it has data for IMR4198 for 400 grain jacketed FN starting at 29.7 grains (trapdoor load levels)

Anyone seen data for IMR4198 and this projectile specifically or is it close enough to H4198 with mild loads plinking loads loaded at Trapdoor levels to be safe?

I load 30 grains of IMR 4198 but shoot it in my Uberti 1885 modern rifle. Very low recoil. I also use that same load in an antique Remington rolling block in 43 Egyptian that works well. I think if you use the starting load of the H4198 data you should b3 fine.

Thanks very much, these will be going into a Pedersoli 1874 Sharps reproduction so a fairly strong action (forgot to mention that piece)

Got a reply from Campro on this in case others are interested here is what they recommend
