Campro Ginex SP primers

Not sure where you are in Quebec, and I don't have a 357 but I could give you 25 of the Ginex to test if you are ever near Ottawa

Thanks, but that will not be required. I bought a brick of Ginex. I just do not want to load a batch of 357 Mag and then have to pull the bullets.

Reloading always needs test loads. I tried Ginex LP primers in reduced loads for 460sw which I believe was comparable to 357 - they work fine. Although for reduced loads I used Titegroups, since H110 does not work for that. Also for full loads I use H110 with LR primers instead of required LRM - no problem as well.

I’ve used regular small pistol primers with H110 in 357 with no issues. I assume ginex will be the same. They are hard primers in my experience so if you have lightened your springs expect some light strikes.

BTW I am using N 110 ( a Vihtavuori extruded powder) not H 110 ( a Winchester/ Hodgdon ball powder). It should be easier to ignite than H110 is.

So, I loaded a trial batch with the Ginex SP primers in 357 Mag, with 158 gr. campros and 15.2 grains of Vihtavuori N110. Everything went boom and there were no hangfires or unusual amounts of unburnt powder. They are indeed harder than CCI primers, but that was not a problem in my 586-3 with the hammer spur.
