Hey folks, anyone have any experience with Campro SPP? Good, bad, soft or hard? They are priced pretty good at $35 for 1000.

Thanks

I know Slavex uses a boat load of Ginex primers and he doesn't seem to have too many complaints. You could try shooting him a PM if you require additional information. It might take him a while to reply but he's always willing to help.

Yeah I've used around 70,000 of the CamPro/Ginex primers. Even with the light springs I run in my Shadow 2s I haven't had any real issues when shooting. Only thing that does happen now and then is upside down primers on my Revo, or squished primers if the primer pocket isn't perfect (and yes I swage, twice even). They are super soft cups and distort easily if things aren't perfect. The super soft nature is what makes them reliable with soft springs as well (and I guess the compound). Normally if a few upside down primers sneak through, my primer orientation sensor detects them before they get loaded with powder and I pull them, carefully decap and reuse. With the Ginex that's about 50/50 success rate. Quite often decaping them on the single stage, super slowly, still massively dents the face and drives the anvil out. I've had maybe 50% reliability with reinserting the anvil into the cup and then hand seating them. So, not worth it to me to do that. I will still decap and if they stay together I reuse and so far never had an issue with those either.

Tesro and Fast Toys but you can probably find S&B primers for about the same price (maybe cheaper).

Yeah I agree, S&B can be had for about the same. I happen to be going to Tesro tomorrow to pick up some bullets so was thinking about picking up some to try since I was there anyhow.

Any idea how they compare to Federal SPP. I wouldn't mind a cheaper alternative to use in my PPC revolver. It will only detonate the Federal SPPs reliably but they're running in the $50+/1000 range now if you can even find them.

Me and you both, lol, unfortunately they aren't that sensitive/soft.

I find the Ginex to be just as soft as the Federals

What tuned revolver did you use for testing? I guess YMMV but my revolvers definitely didn't find them as soft/sensitive as Federals (I gave up after a few cylinders).

Sell them (local sales only), use them (probably 30-40K so far) - happy with them!

I've found them harder than Federal, but not as hard as CCI. Great pricing and availability is good.
