bought a carton of large pistol primers with the campro name on them. bosnia. they sure fit nothing i want to reload. like say new .45LC starline. anyone else have this problem? im pissed off

I have campro large pistol. I have put them in Winchester , federal and hornady 45colt brass.

What’s you issue. Too big too small?

I have loaded up campro and have found they do have some issues. However, by making sure the pockets are clean and free of any burs etc..they work fine for me. I prime using the priming arm on my lyman single stage press where I have more feel for the process. Every now and then if it feels tight so I back off , turn the brass, then finish pushing the primer in.

I find GINEX a to be a snug fit for seating on un cleaned pockets or otherwise. Some more than others on my Lee. Mostly federal brass, blazer, S&B being the most snug.

I did a few 44 mag Starline, and had to gently seat a few deeper. Definitely something to pay attention to. They shoot great even -20c.

Like said above, make sure seating arm or whatever is clean and clear. Tight tolerance for sure.

They are snug, so need to prep primer pockets well, maybe even swage them. But other than that, they work fine for me

Im useing a RCBS rock chucker to prime so no lack of preasure. Im useing NEW starline brass. I couldnt put enough presure on to seat the primers all the way. As can be expected the pockets are clean new and no burs or anything. Highly disapointed. Unusable in this brass anyways

Yep, they take more force to seat and I run in to far more high primer issues vs CCI in both Large and small pistol brass.

Thanks for the post, I buy campro bullets as often as I can and totally would've jumped on primers if I saw them available. I tend to buy cci or winchester for pistol in large and small and have no beefs with either, federal for rifle

well i tried again thisaft. as im out of large pistol except for these. i must have got a very bad batch. i tried on some 2nd firing WW colt brass to and the same thing. i cant put enough preasure on them with a rock chucker to seat them it just crushes them at the last very dangerous. they goin in the scrap bin

I meant to try and seat one in a 45-70 case to see if it fit better. I found their SP fit ok, but 1-4 out of 100 are tight. Maybe 6.

I wear ear pro and eye pro with these.

Throw them away into my trash

I wonder if they are actually Large Rifle? A bit bigger than LP.

large rifle and large pistol the same size except for seating depth/ primer tallness i thought. i actually took some WW large rifle and seated them in the starline 45LC brass with no problems. test fired a few in the pistol and they work fine so thats what im gona use / do

I loaded 100 cases of 38 special using the CamPro SPP. Two of the 100 got crushed to the point I had to trash them, and several others wouldn't seat all the way in.

I use mixed brass for my pistol loads, and after a while I noticed that the ones that were not fitting properly were all S&B brass. All other brands of brass were seating with no issues. I carefully deprimed the 7 or 8 cases that hadn't seated properly and reused the primers in other cases. Yesterday I took my 98 cartridges to the range and all of them went bang.

I much prefer to work with CCI primers, but right now I can't find them anywhere, and X-Reload has plenty of CamPro primers at a reasonable $70 a brick.

I also loaded brand new starline brass with Ginex LPP. They are hard to seat as you say. I used a lee ram priming tool and found that it would seat if I applied pressure, then turned the casing 180 degrees, apply pressure again. Not great but practical impact was taking 2x longer to seat primers.

That is a good price, unfortunately $37 to ship via UPS and limit of 1 brick per purchase. May be a sign prices will become sensible again. Been using mainly Ginex but recently loaded a box with Federal primers and the Federals felt like butter compared to Ginex, which is like trying to shove something into a rusty pipe.
