I haven’t seen anything on this, but can 12.6 permit holders still buy, sell and transfer prohibs to other 12.6 permit holders or do they now fall under the same freeze as restricted handguns?

I would suspect that all handguns, no matter what the classification are all prevented from being sold or transferred. Since the Trudeau Liberals have prevented all "so called assault rifles" from being transferred in any way the market for those rifles and all handguns are now gone. The main difference is that the Feds may be compensating for prohibited rifles but not handguns as now they seem satisfied with destroying the retail market and who knows they may now also back away from any compensation for any guns. I believe the Trudeau Liberals are in a wait and see attitude depending on the push back from the public. Phil.

Conditions of Transferring Firearms and Other Weapons Regulations

Handguns
4.1 The chief firearms officer may authorize the transfer of a handgun to an individual only if the individual needs the handgun

to protect the life of that individual or of other individuals;
for use in connection with his or her lawful profession or occupation; or
to train, compete or coach in a handgun shooting discipline that is on the programme of the International Olympic Committee or the International Paralympic Committee, and the individual provides a letter to a chief firearms officer from a provincial or national sport shooting governing body indicating:
that the individual trains, competes or coaches in such a discipline,
the specific discipline in which the individual trains, competes or coaches, and
that the handgun that the individual seeks to acquire is necessary for training, competing or coaching in that specific discipline.

All handgun transfers are frozen. Only handguns not affected are antique status ones.

Incorrect, you can still sell to a business. I sold a 12.6 handgun to a business on the 21st and called CFC at about 430pm. All ok.
With hindsight we should have all become a registered firearms business...then we'd be good!

I am not going to say you are wrong however our business license (and most others I presume) do not allow the business to own or have 12(6) handguns in their inventory. We can (could) only have 12(6) handguns on consignment from the original 12(6) owner. Even though in the past many retail firearms dealers would "buy" the handgun and even pay out the original owner, the gun in question would stay registered to the original owner until the consignment gun was transferred. We have not been advised of any changes to this policy but if anyone has heard different, please let us know. Phil.

Will a legal firearms friendly government (cough, cough) Cons repeal all these OIC's ? Hmmmmmmmm

Maybe? They might do it to keep a large base of voters. They may not thinking it could cost them votes.

Think it will depend on the public climate. But if gun owners wrote in the leadership offices and said we will support you if you support is. Our numbers may mean something.
