Can Anybody Help????

I keep checking the status of my firearms application on the website and for the last 6 months it has said the same thing " Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date" it has said this since January now. I have called 1 to 2 times per month and have been transferred to the BC CFO and just keep getting told the same thing each time that there is nothing they can do to help me and it will be another 6 months wait. I have asked if there is anything I can do to speed up the process but they say all I can do is wait. Has anyone experienced this? Is there anything I can do ? this is beginning to get very frustrating as hunting season is soon approaching and I need my PAL in order to provide for my family. I live in a very remote area of NE BC and my family depends on hunting to have meat in our freezer to get through the winter. PLEASE anybody HELP ME

you've done all yo can do, call them and offer to help. Unfortunately, it looks like you will need to wait.

Have you had any legal issues in the past?

Are they trying to contact references with no luck?

call the firearms in NB they do all the processing (RCMP )

Call more often. They might start to sound annoyed with you. Oh well.

Call every day, twice a day even. They will push it through.

Let me guess your current PAL has or will soon expire, this is why I renew 4 - 6 months early. Never trust the process.

Your trying to renew your existing PAL? Or you're waiting on a new PAL?

My wife and my best friend did their pal course at pretty much the same time. I was a reference for each of them, and did the interview on the same phone call from the CFC. My wife got her RPAL in a timely fashion, while my friend waited almost a year. He's never been in any kind of trouble, no reason for making him wait, other than to screw with gun owners.

Time to reach out to your ombudsman. I've heard they help in these situations.. Or your MP. I've read where people get quick action after a call.

My experience with this is that they have been trying to contact your references and have been unable to do so.

Ask your references if they have been contacted. if they haven't thats the issue. Have they been away? Changed their contact information?

Then call Mirmachi again and ask them to tell you what the issue is that is holding it up. (if its not the reference)

Then call your MP if they wont give you a straight answer

RCMP sent my refrences a letter asking them to call in. They made no attemp to call them.
