Can anyone give me their opinion on a Tikka T3 lite Battue?

I really like the look of this gun. I own a Tikka T3 stainless and I'm contemplating a Tikka Battue in another caliber. The barrel of the Battue is 20''.
Does the shorter barrel length compromise accuracy notably?
Cheers

Some don't like the funky back sight rib - I mean despise it. But since you like it - get one.

A short barrel shouldn't hurt accuracy. Benchrest "one holers" often wear stubby barrels. If relying on open sights supplied, then the short sight radius may make it practically less accurate than a longer tubed model with a corresponding longer sight radius.

But velocity loss is a whole other kettle of fish. The calibre/cartridge combo you are choosing for your carbine may lose little or lots - depending on the cartridges expansion ratio primarily. Handloading tailored loads and powders can help with work arounds often to make carbines as effective as the rifle version with factory loads.

One "opinion" as asked for.

I have a light battue in 9.3x62, over the past 20 years I have owned and loaded for about 200 rifles and the battue is my all time favorite bolt gun. It has a 4x weaver in weaver mounts and rings, all chosen to be light weight, it shoots 2" groups at 200yards and that's with the first load put together[58 grains 4064 270 Speer in reformed whelen brass] This gun is great to carry, tough, reliable, and will kill anything that walks, but in 9.3x62 does have heavy recoil. I like the battue so much I am thinking about one in 308. For the money you can't go wrong.

I was looking for the same type of rifle a couple years ago. I handled both a Ruger Frontier and Battue. I actually had my mind pretty much set on the Battue until I handled them. I liked the Frontier much better and ended up getting it. I have been very happy with it.

Make sure you get out to a gunstore and play with a Battue first to see if you like it. It will feel a lot more like tupperware than your T3

Last year tried one at the range that another guy had, it was in 300 win mag which IMHO was a bit recoil heavy for me due to how light the rifle is...That's just me though.

Overall I liked the handling of the rifle and found the fit and finish quite nice.
The action and the trigger was smooth.

I wonder if they come in 6.5x55? :)
