Can anyone help me out with a pistol value?

Look on the EE now. I'm sure there's at least a 5/686 on there. Check condition of the gun against yours and you'll know if you're in the ball park for price. If you BTT more than 5 times, you are priced too high! If it sells in 5 mins, probably too low! LOL!

Is the 586 and 686 basically same gun? What is difference?

Oh I see the 686 is just indicative of stainless. No dash and no m and no star so I guess zero mod or recall work

Yep, if there is no number or "M" after the 586 then it's a first generation 586 (also referred to as a 586 no dash) without the recall having been done. I sold a 1983 586 "no dash" with the recall stamp about six months ago. It was in decent shape, cocobolo target grips and a little bluing loss at the muzzle. Went for $675 shipped and sold in a day.

Yeah.... Umm send it my way and I'll have a look at it under a good light and uh...yeah, no you don't wanna keep this.... Let me take it off 'yer hands.... Let's just start up the paper work and we'll make sure this "old paper weight" doesn't cost or bother you anymore.... Yup you're lucky I was gonna charge you to dispose of this, but I just recived my shipment of moon rocks to sell on eBay. Would you like to be the first to buy one of my moon rocks? I know, they smell like cheese? Maybe the moon is made of chees after all.....

Clever. :)

FYI an unfired 586 same vintage as yours sold for $795 at a local shop last week..
dB

Mine has definitely been fired so that gives me a good indication of price. I put it on 750 with half dozen boxes of ammo and some speed loaders and a bunch of trade options. I'll drop once or twice then maybe keep it. Not into but it's also not taking up a ton of space so maybe it stays

Thread reminds one of ladies trying to sell their car. Description: Turn the circle thing to go left/right. Step on right peddle to go, left to stop.
