Can anyone tell me about this "pirate" gun?

Arrrr matey!

Can anyone tell me about this gun? I have no idea of the history, it's my dad's and he got it I think from Greece when he immigrated back in the 60s.

Puzzling in some ways; the nose cap makes me think it is french, the barrel contour suggests mid 1700's but the name seems to be IIOIIO which does not make any sense and makes me think of India. Were it not for the apparent name, I would vote for mid 1700 french.

It may even be a modern reproduction or a non-firing replica; are there any proofs on the barrel?

Reminds me of a Levantine pistol very popular in the Mediterranean region, I had a french made one for sale recently.
