Can I add a flash hider?

Ok so I just put a deposit on my first AR. It isnt threaded for a flash hider though and Im just wondering if I can thread it in order to put one on or if threading it will compromise the integrity of the barrel or if there is a better option.

We do this all the time with no problem. To thread your barrel for a flash hider or muzzle brake is not a problem and will not effect the integrity of the barrel in any way, assuming the work is done correctly.
