can I import a gun stock?

I want to buy a stock, it's $75 in the states but $150+ here.

Can I buy it in the states and simply drive it back or would I need an ITAR export license or something? Tried search function, did not find the answer.

I heard people buy stuff from Brownell's and they ship up here but brownell's does not carry the stock I want (a 10/22 butler creek folder). are there other retailers that will ship to Canada?

Depends on the Origin of the stock and whit you buy it from. M14 stocks can't be exported.

I ask not so long ago general typical answer was you need an export permit

The stock could be exported by a licenced exporter.
A licenced exporter will be a US business.
A cross border shopper cannot get a US export licence.
