Can I Post a Non-Game Recipe?

I'll take the overwhelming response as meaning that there is no objection.

Anyway, here it is.

Ingredients:

2 X 375 gram packages of bacon.
2 medium onions, chopped.
4 X 540ml cans of pinto beans, drained.
1 X 796ml can of diced tomatoes.
1/2 cup of brown sugar.
1 1/2 TBSP prepared mustard.
1 1/2 TBSP of BBQ sauce.
1 TBSP of salt.
1 TBSP of pepper.
2 TBSP of vinegar.

- Fry bacon until edible but not crisp, then drain and squeeze drippings out on paper towels, then slice into small pieces.
- Discard drippings except for 2 TBSP in large 12" skillet.
- Saute onions until slightly softened, then drain and squeeze drippings out on paper towels.
- Dump bacon, onions, beans, and undrained can of diced tomatoes into a 5 quart crock pot or Stovetop Dutch Oven.
- Stir until mixed, then add all remaining ingredients and stir again.
- Cook for about 5 hours on high in your crock pot or until onions are thoroughly softened and reduced in size, while stirring occasionally in your covered crock pot.
- If using a Dutch Oven, stir frequently with the electric burner or gas or propane stove on medium high, until onions are thoroughly softened and reduced in size. Also keep covered.

Tastes better after a night in the fridge (or ice chest).

Dam, I was going to be the first and suggest that there better be some cheese cake in this recipe ;)
But, this certainly sounds interesting, will give it a whirl later this week when I cook up some baked beans or chilli for the freezer and hunting camp comfort food .
Do you really need all the extra salt with the amount of bacon used? (trying to cut down on sodium is why I ask)

Made these up tonight. Taste pretty good up front, but I'll be leaving them in the fridge over night.

Sunday night update: served these up as a side with an oven roasted cottage roll baked with potatoes, carrots, onion and garlic. Absolute hit. Thanks for the recipe.
