Can I put Savage 64 parts onto my Lakefield 64B

I picked up a plinker for the wife (really me) from a fellow CGN'er. It's a Lakfield 64b in great shape overall, but I'd like to see if the trigger could be swapped out with new parts ordered from Savage for their 64?

Has anyone tried this?

I beleive that the Cooey64s, Lakewood 64s, sears64s and savage are all interchangeable. I have several of different manuf. and slight differences in the firing mechanisms but the rest seems the same. I know that I have changed the lakefield and Cooey trigger.

as long as you do not try putting the A model parts into a B gun. the magwell etc is different between the 2.

The savage never came in a 64a..so no need to worry about that

It is the original 64 that had the plastic mags. The rest ..A, B and Cs all take the same metal mag. The plastic mag for the 64 is obsolete.
